GEORGIA TECH HONOR CHALLENGE
I commit to uphold the ideals of honor and integrity by refusing to betray the trust bestowed upon me as a member of the Georgia Tech community.
A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR
In 1995, the students, faculty, and staff of Georgia Tech came together to pledge to uphold the high standards of honor and integrity necessary for a top-tier research institution. That pledge was the Honor Code.
The Honor Advisory Council is charged by the Honor Code with promoting academic integrity, teaching the campus community about the Honor Code, and advising students going through the integrity process. We are a group of students who have come together to help the create an atmosphere of trust and respect on campus. We conduct individual advising, teach ethics seminars, speak to large campus groups, hold events, and reach out to the campus community.
We hope that by providing this website, we have given Tech an easy to use resource for all matters relating to honor and integrity. Please explore, and if you have any question send us an email at honor@gatech.edu. We also hold office hours in room 150 of the Smithgall Student Services Building. You can find a schedule of our office hours here.
Tech is a tough place. It tests every aspect of our being on a regular basis. Fifteen years ago, the community banded together to give those trials meaning and integrity. Since then, HAC has been leading the way in promoting the ideals contained within the Honor Code. We look forward to being at the forefront of that journey for the next fifteen.
As always, yours in honor,
Mike Donohue
Chair, GT Honor Advisory Council
